Bentley for the City

For my final second year Uni project I chose to design a Bentley, aimed at urban use, based on the platform of the VW Polo. The main challenge was to make sure the quality and exclusivity Bentley has a reputation for, wasn't lost when translating a Bentley onto a smaller package.

The final design I chose is a cab forward, front engine hatchback. The rear window is faster than on most hatchbacks, thanks to the high back, and slightly extended rear overhang. The glasshouse tapers in at the back for a muscular appearance over the rear wheels. The bonnet is short even for a hatchback, to optimise the interior space, and the bonnet is higher than on most cars of this size to increase its visual mass.

Jaguar Drawings

XK120
I was commissioned last summer to do a series of drawings for a classic Jaguar showroom close to where I live. The company has quite a few E-Types and XK120s in their showroom, and also restore classic Jaguars. They wanted 4 drawings: one of 2 E-Types, one of 2 XK120s, one of a D-Type and XKSS, and one of a C-Type.

These are by far the biggest drawings I have ever done.. they are more than 130cm across and around 85cm high. I drew them on card, which came as a 10m roll, using markers, pastels, gouache, pencils and fineliners.
The C-Type drawing did get finished, but I have not currently got a good quality photo.
