I did a project on the city a couple of years ago at college. The taxi painting i recently posted is the final piece I created for the project. Here are a couple more pieces from that project.

A large amount of the work was focused on speed and movement, and also reflections. I liked Estes' paintings especially, which have extensive use of reflections. In many of his paintings he shows only a small part of a car, or fills the frame with a window, but manages to depict the feeling of a city by bringing in additional information surrounding the object in the form of reflections.
